MVA Service Projects

At MVA we want to follow Christ’s heart and call to serve others.  Throughout the year we provide various opportunities for families to join us in serving not only the children in our school, but children in our community and around the world as well.

  • BOX TOPS/POP TABS:

Each year we collect Box Tops from products that our families already purchase.  These earn our school .10 for every top we mail in! We use this money to help purchase supplies for our classrooms!

We collect the pull tabs off of aluminum cans.  Each year we turn these in to our local Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.  The tabs are recycled and the funds are used to help local families or for free chemo treatments for children fighting cancer.

  • CANNED FOOD DRIVE:

Our October service project is a canned food drive which collects canned goods for the Soddy Daisy Food bank to help them replenish their shelves for the holiday seasons.

  • Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes:

In November each class collects items to fill a shoebox for Samaritan’s Purse.  Each box gets mailed in time for Christmas to a child somewhere in another country.  Each shoe box includes a copy of the Christmas story in the child’s own language!

  • MITTEN TREE:

In December, we hang children’s mittens on a tree in our lobby and we also collect children’s toothbrushes and toothpaste.  These items are delivered by members of Middle Valley Baptist to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen for homeless children who will be using their services over the winter months.
